Description
Part I of the Oberlin Medical History series outlines events from 1834-1864 including the beginning doctors in town and their relationship to the newly founded Oberlin College. Featured is Dr. James Dascomb and other early events in Oberlin as they related to world events including the abolition movement, the civil war and the first hospitals in Lorain County and Cleveland. Music by Brahms who was born in 1833. Permission for use of pictures was generously given by the Oberlin College Archives, Oberlin Public Library, Oberlin Heritage Center and others.
