American history is full of hidden histories, especially when it comes to the histories of women, specifically those of women of color. This book aims to unpack the “many lives” of Shirley Graham Du Bois, who was a woman of mixed race born in Indianapolis on November 11th, 1896 during the height of Jim Crow.
