Cat About Town

Text

In the early 1990s I lived on Elm Street with my tortoise shell cat named Murphy. She had a big personality and would regularly sunbathe on the sidewalk tempting passers by to stop and pet her. Once after she'd been missing for a few days I posted signs with her picture everywhere. I came to learn that she was a wanderer, known far and wide about town. The students in South Hall considered her their mascot; she had been spotted in front of Severance Hall, and among the hostas in front of the Conservatory. She returned home after being discovered in Kade House, listening to a student playing the piano in the lounge.
