Description
Eleanor "Bumpy" Stevenson was first lady of Oberlin College from 19461956. She and her husband, Bill Stevenson, had served I with the Red Cross in Europe and North Africa during World War II. While at Oberlin, Eleanor used her free time to become a traveling lecturer and a staunch advocate for women’s education, veterans, and civil rights. This student project draws on Stevenson's papers to chart the evolution of her advocacy work.
