Description
This student curated focuses on Susan Rowena Bird, an 1890 graduate of Oberlin who became a part of a group of missionaries in Shanxi known as the Oberlin Band. Bird was killed in the Boxer Rebellion in 1900. The project includes letters Bird wrote to her mother, as well as a letter one of her Chinese converts sent to her mother a year after Bird's death.
